The rural setting suits walkers and cyclists exploring the North Downs Way and the Medway Valley, as well as visitors simply wanting a quieter base than the city centre.
Cuxton's own railway station gives a direct rail link into Rochester in a matter of minutes, while the village itself sits within easy striking distance of the castle, cathedral and High Street for anyone happy to drive or take the short train hop into the city.

North Downs Barn is a fantastic place to stay, peaceful setting, beautiful building, spotless rooms, and an exceptionally comfortable bed. Breakfast is incredible, with a brilliant selection, and the fresh daily touches (water, coffee, biscuits) really stand out. Allison is a wonderful host... warm, helpful, and genuinely goes above and beyond — even preparing a packed breakfast when I had an early start. Perfect location with great pubs and restaurants nearby. Excellent value and an all‑round superb stay. Highly recommended, I’ll definitely be returning.

Beautifully restored barn. Lots of exposed wooden beams. Easy to get to nearby venues with Uber taxis. Private parking. Walking trails on the doorstep with big views. Sunday pub lunch nearby at the white horse. We really enjoyed our stay.

We had an excellent stay at North Downs Barn. The owners clearly take pride in their lovely home and B&B and they are very welcoming. Location is peaceful and rural with good views. It is within a fairly short drive of Rochester and Chatham etc.

Loved the accommodation at the North Downs Barn B&B Rochester! 😍 The place is serene and beautifully decorated inside and landscaped with adorable flowering plants and colorful trees the look that can only exist in magazines. 🥰 I give the North Downs Barn B&B Rochester 5+ overall for the impeccable accommodation, room, service, and location!
