Couples and solo travellers will find The Pod at Egmont Farm a self-contained retreat on five acres of farmland in Rother. The single bedroom holds a double bed, and everything happens on the ground floor: a combined living and dining space with a woodburning stove, a kitchenette for simple cooking, and a shower room. Electricity, wi-fi, bed linen and towels come as standard, and there is a welcome pack on arrival. You have use of the laundry room and a decked veranda looking onto the shared lawned areas.

The hot tub is private to the pod, available by arrangement. A single car can park on site. The farm itself keeps animals, and you can access five acres of paddock and grounds. The setting sits within the High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, where footpaths and nature reserves network through the landscape. Rye, a medieval Cinque Port town, is reachable on foot and has restaurants, cafes, galleries and independent shops. The Kent and East Sussex Vintage Steam Railway runs ten and a half miles through the valley, stopping at Tenterden and near Bodiam Castle. The Rother Valley offers cycling and walking throughout. No smoking indoors.
