About Flackley Ash Hotel
Flackley Ash occupies a Georgian country house at Peasmarsh, just over the Sussex border a few miles south of Tenterden, set in landscaped gardens that give the hotel a settled, established feel. It is one of a small group of historic hotels across Kent and Sussex, and the house itself retains period features alongside a more contemporary spa wing.
The spa includes an indoor pool, sauna, steam room and a full range of treatments, while the restaurant makes use of produce from the hotel's own kitchen garden alongside other local suppliers. Bedrooms vary between traditional rooms in the main house and more modern options in the garden wing, giving guests a choice of character.
Rye's cobbled streets and the Cinque Ports coastline are a few minutes away, with Tenterden, Chapel Down vineyard and Bodiam Castle all within a comfortable half-hour drive, making Flackley Ash a good base for visitors keen to combine Tenterden with the Sussex coast.

My stay here was incredible. A very picturesque, charming and calming place to stay. From the moment I walked in I was blown away from the ethos of the staff. From the cleaner through to the management, no-one could do enough. In particular, the attentiveness, the attention to detail, and being welcomed with a smile creates an ideal place to get away from it all. The gym is well equipped and also has; separate male and female saunas, an indoor pool and a jacuzzi. I found the beauty therapist to be very professional, knowledgeable and had an ability to make you feel at ease. As for the food, I'm speechless. I wish I had stayed longer to try the rest of the menu items, I only managed to try two. But both blew me away with the quality of the ingredients, the flavours and the fact it made me slow down to savour every mouthful!! I certainly didn't want my stay to end. I would highly recommend this establishment, can't fault it, so has to be a 10/10 from me.

Perfect post long haul rest and pick-me-up in a quintessential English country house I stayed at the Flackley Ash as my first stop on a UK trip, straight off a long-haul flight from Australia. The staff were so helpful and even booked my pick-up from Heathrow. The hotel has a lovely homely feel, and I relaxed the moment I stepped through the door. My room was cosy and a good size, with a comfy bed, everything I needed, and decor I loved. There was plenty of hot water, a good shower and a deep hot bath, which was just the ticket after that flight. The view from my window was private, looking out over gardens and countryside. The hotel also has lovely facilities, including an indoor pool and gym. Dinner and breakfast were both lovely, and I felt completely comfortable sitting at the bar for a pre-dinner drink and then in the restaurant as a solo female traveller. I'd highly recommend this place for a weekend away or a stopover on any UK trip. It's also very close to Rye, a delightful old Tudor town full of beautiful shops to browse, lovely pubs and great restaurants. My stay here remains one of the highlights of my whole UK trip.

Stayed here for a short weekend trip to Rye. The hotel is approximately 7 minutes straight road drive to Rye town centre. The hot water in the hotel, being a Georgian country house, took some time to circulate in and around the hotel (at least that’s what we’ve been told) so you have to wait a bit before you can bathe or shower in comfortable temperature. The place is clean and the restaurant serve good food. The overall service is amazing and the staff accommodated all of our requests without delay. There is an indoor pool, which, for not so confident swimmers like myself, should be careful of- there are signs of depth of the pool, but it is designed to go quite deep immediately, from the sides to the middle. We also had a massage, which was very relaxing and the two ladies in the spa were very friendly. The hotel also has adequate parking.

I can't recommend this hotel enough, staff are so friendly and cannot do enough to make your stay a very good one. The food is top notch and very reasonable. Never got to use the gym or pool but they were both extremely clean and looked very inviting. The hotel is pet friendly and there are treats available for your 4 legged friends. We had a lovely time away and the hotel staff were so friendly. I have to say the hot chocolate was extremely good as well.
