I had a lovely experience at this hotel. Single traveller, the hotel was clean, comfortable and my room was perfect for me. Breakfast was generous and very tasty. Location was great for north beach and Peasholm park lots of places to walk.

Nice quiet hotel. Friendly staff. The hotel owners have a lovely dog called Benji who is so placid. We only saw him when we returned in the evening. A 25 to 30 minute walk into town (we just walk everywhere) to get here. Rooms are spotlessly clean, nice and quiet. Breakfast was good, with a wide selection of cereals as well as a cooked breakfast. Maybe consider adding sugar-free cereals to the mix or fruit as an alternative?

Stayed in The Russell last night as we had tickets for The Open Air Theatre. Rooms very clean great service and lovely breakfast this morning. Excellent location just a five min walk to the theatre and managed to park outside the hotel. Would certainly book again. Staff very friendly.

What a gem of a hotel. We had booked a twin room but on arrival we were asked if we would like a bigger room at the front of the hotel. Everything was absolutely spotless, coffee, tea & hot chocolate available in room. Shampoo etc in bathroom. Breakfast was amazing lot's of choice & nothing was too much trouble. Parking on the property was a bonus. The location is opposite the park where you can feed the squirrels by hand & 5min walk to North Bay. Thank you both for a lovely stay. We will be back.
