Everything needed for a stay is provided at Nettlebush Cottage, a detached stone cottage near Biggar in the Scottish Borders. The essentials—heating, electricity, wi-fi, bed linen and towels—are all included. The kitchen has an electric oven, gas hob, microwave, fridge and washer-dryer, so you can cook properly or travel light. A travel cot and highchair are available, and there's a freezer in an outbuilding for extra storage. The property is entirely on the ground floor, with level access through French doors to the garden and patio.
The single bedroom contains a kingsize bed, and the bathroom has a bath with shower. In the living and dining room, a wood burner and 32" Smart TV provide comfort and entertainment. French doors open onto an enclosed garden with patio and furniture; the garden is steep and has views toward the River Tweed and valley hills. One dog is welcome, kept on a lead as the property sits on a working sheep farm. Private parking for two cars is on site, and an electrical charging point is available.
The cottage sits on a farm in the Upper Tweeddale National Scenic Area with good walking from the door. The John Buchan Way begins 2½ miles away in Broughton, and Glentress—with facilities for cycling and mountain biking—is a 20-minute drive. Peebles and Biggar are both roughly 15 minutes' drive and have pubs and restaurants. Edinburgh is an hour north. The nearest shop is 3 miles away, and the closest pub or restaurant 8½ miles. No smoking.
