Old School House
Scottish Borders
A former school converted into a four-bedroom house, Old School House retains the character of its past life—original features and antiques scattered throughout give it genuine personality. The ground floor holds an open-plan living space with a 75-inch TV, dining area and a kitchen equipped for serious cooking: electric oven and hob, dishwasher, air fryer, American fridge freezer. Bedroom 1 and 2 are both doubles on this level; a bathroom with bath and shower serves them. Upstairs, Bedroom 3 contains a double and a single, while Bedroom 4 has two singles and a pull-out single; a separate shower room is at hand.
Ten guests can stay comfortably here, with bed linen, towels, wi-fi and heating all included. There is on-road parking, and the single step to the entrance poses no barrier. The property is no-smoking throughout.
Peebles sits two minutes' walk away—independent shops, cafés and restaurants line its streets, and the Eastgate Theatre runs live performances and cinema screenings. The Scottish Borders are cycling country; Glentress Forest in the Tweed Valley offers established trails. Walking, fishing and river exploring follow naturally from proximity to the River Tweed and surrounding hills. Groups and families—and one pet—can settle in here for a week or weekend without feeling cramped.
