Staffin

Staffin works well for families wanting a base for countryside breaks, or groups of friends after space without stairs. The whole cottage sits on ground level: three bedrooms (one with a king bed and ensuite shower, one double, one with twin singles) and a family bathroom, plus a living room and separate kitchen/dining space. Essentials like heating, electricity, bed linen and Wi-Fi are included; the kitchen has an electric oven, gas hob, dishwasher and washing machine if you want to cook proper meals. There's a travel cot and highchair if needed, and parking for one car on site.

You're in Newcastleton itself, in the Liddle Valley near the Scottish border. Walking and cycling dominate here – the area sits on the Seven Stanes cycle route and has plenty of hill walks nearby. A pub is less than a mile away, shops are within easy reach, and the village hosts a Traditional Music Festival in early summer with ceilidhs and live music. The setting is genuinely quiet, though the area has a long history as a borderland frontier. No smoking inside the property.
