The Lodge

The Lodge is a three-bedroom house in the Scottish Borders sleeping six, with two bathrooms and a hot tub that seats the whole party. The main living space spreads across a ground floor with a fully equipped kitchen (electric oven, gas hob, dishwasher, air fryer and more), a separate dining room, and a second sitting room with a DVD player. Upstairs are three bedrooms: a kingsize, a double, and two singles. Central heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi are all included, and there's a travel cot if needed.

The enclosed garden is the real draw—a decked sitting area with furniture and the six-person hot tub, a stone barbecue stand, and enough room for children to play or dogs to run around. There's parking for three cars and the whole property is yours alone; smoking is not permitted. Kelso sits five minutes' drive away, or you can walk the riverside route into town in roughly half an hour to find restaurants and shops. The landscape around the cottage is farmland, the kind of place where you might watch harvest operations unfold or simply sit with morning coffee overlooking the fields.
