About The Queens Head Hotel
The Queens Head Hotel has occupied its site close to Kelso Abbey since 1725 and remains a family-run inn at the centre of the town's social life. Rooms are available as doubles, twins and family rooms, decorated in a contemporary style while retaining the building's older bones, and the hotel's split-level bar and dining area has an informal, brasserie feel with wood floors and exposed brick.
Food is served all day, from pizzas and burgers to more substantial pub classics, with a fuller menu offered in the evenings, and the bar has picked up national recognition, including a Best Bar None award. Free wifi, ample parking and bicycle storage are all provided, useful for visitors arriving by car or exploring the Borders cycling routes.
A short walk from the Abbey ruins and the main square, the Queens Head suits visitors who want a lively, sociable base in the centre of Kelso, with dining and drinking taken care of on site as well as easy access to the rest of the town on foot.

Another lovely, tasty meal at the queens head. Been going here regularly and never had anything but very tasty food. Beef Stroganoff is superb as is the steak and ale pie- gammon steak, hunters chicken and fish n chips too. All were cooked to perfection and served in good time. Varies desserts - i had sticky toffee pud which was good but not the best ive tasted, ice cream was good quality. Staff very friendly and helpful ( making sure im safe going downstairs as im disabled). Book your table as it does get busy. Prices are reasonable given the quality of food and service.

Lovely room, perfect location, and a brilliant vegan cooked breakfast. (I emailed in advance to check whether they could cater for vegans, and the breakfast was great - vegan sausage, black pudding etc). Great service in a beautiful place. We were walking the Borders Abbeys Way and this was a perfect place to stay (and a real treat!)

Nice hotel in a good location. Our room was small but comfortable. Unfortunately we stayed on one of the hottest nights so far &the room was very hot until we opened a window &even then it was uncomfortably warm. Not the hotels fault though...I blamed the weather! Food in the evening was good &the staff were friendly & helpful. Good breakfast too
