What visitors say
I entered a complaint about our experience to the venue about six weeks ago now, and didn’t intend to write a review if the response was adequate. But they haven’t acknowledged the contact. We booked a disco party for our daughter in November and had a pretty poor experience. It was poorly managed, and the main issues were 1) understaffing, and 2) the apathetic attitude of the staff we did have. I am not sure who our party coordinator was, as they never introduced themselves to my wife or I. The only time anyone approached me was to interrupt a conversation I was having, 15 minutes into the party, to demand that I go and settle the bill there and then. The disco and party games element of the party were just bad. Two unenthusiastic members of staff who acted like they’d been forced to field the session at five minutes notice. They were not enthusiastic and had no prescence. Everything ran behind schedule. The children were in the room ready to eat for 10 minutes before the food arrived. The same two members of staff did everything – running the disco and the games, and going up and down the stairs to get and serve the food. It would have made much for sense for someone to bring the food up to the room while the disco was underway. (The rest of the venue was closed and there were at least half a dozen members of staff still on site). In the end we didn’t even get to sing Happy Birthday in the room as planned because the kids had such a wait for food, then there were big gaps between the different steps (cleaning up, ice cream arriving) that we couldn’t keep them sat in the room any longer. Many parents and children had already started to drift off home at this point as it was getting late. The two members of staff knew that we were unhappy at the time because they could hear me apologising to other parents - although no one had actually checked in with us at any time - but they didn’t seek to address this and hid away after they’d cleaned the tables (there were large sections of time with no staff present). They had no control over the events and we had to do far more of the organising that we should have had to, given that we had paid someone else to do it. Other issues include: • The disco element of the package only involved one song (Cha-cha slide). • A member of staffing vacuuming outside the dining room – in the party area, during the party - whilst the children were waiting for their food. The added insult here being that this member of staff could have helped serve the food. • We requested the bowling alley be turned on when we first got there, as it was a feature of our booking, but it never was. • No one offered to cut our cake for us, which I understand is a standard feature of the party package. The soft play itself seemed fine and the kids enjoyed that, but I couldn’t recommend this venue for kids parties. There was far too much wrong and pretty much all of the issues are avoidable with a bit of effort, attention and care.

Ruff ‘n’ Tumble is a fantastic place for kids’ parties — clean, fun, and full of energy! A special thanks to the staff (Kim), who went above and beyond to help us with the event. She was supportive, friendly, and ensured everything run smoothly. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience!

First trip to ruff and tumble today and I couldn't falt it. The girls that work at the cafe were so friendly. The soft play was exceptionally clean for a busy weekend. We had a lovely time

Great place for the kids to tire themselves out and in a safe place. I took a child that loves to explore and run free so is perfect to keep them safe but give freedom too. Food is available and good varied options and prices are appropriate.
