About Dales and Trails
Tucked into a working farm near Giggleswick with sweeping views toward the Three Peaks, this small, exclusive-use site sits where the Yorkshire Dales, Lake District and Forest of Bowland converge—meaning you've got two national parks and a National Landscape all within easy striking distance. The facilities punch well above their weight: individual shower rooms with underfloor heating and upmarket toiletries feel genuinely luxurious after a day on the fells, and pitches are spacious enough for even the largest tents.
Walking trails fan out directly from the site, making it heaven for hikers and dog owners, while secure storage welcomes cyclists and motorcyclists. The hosts go out of their way to help—expect a warm welcome and the chance to stock up on farm-fresh meat and eggs. On clear nights, the dark-skies location transforms the firepit into front-row seating for a stellar show overhead.

What visitors say
What an amazing campsite! This is the second time we’ve stayed here, and somehow it gets even better every visit. The facilities are incredible, and the views are absolutely stunning. What stood out the most, though, was how welcoming and friendly everyone is. They genuinely want you to have the best experience possible. They even helped us put our tent up in gale-force winds, which really shows how much they care about their guests. I couldn’t recommend this place highly enough and will definitely be back.

Wow what a fantastic time we’ve had at the Shippon at Dales & Trails. Warm comfortable accommodation set in a perfect location. Lovely time of year seeing the lambs & Lauren & Charles were so welcoming. The children had a fantastic time watching the lambs& hens & admiring the horses on site. A huge Thank you for making our holiday so special & memorable. Xx

Very friendly owners. Fantastic views all around. Beautifully clean bathrooms with hot showers. Would recommend to fellow campers looking for a place to pitch their tent in the Yorkshire Dales. Close to several nice eateries (eg Rind, does fantastic pizzas!!)

Fantastic campsite. The amenities are very well maintained and the scenery is beautiful. The owner even let the kids feed the chickens in the morning. One of the best campsites I've been to. Would highly recommend. The owner clearly puts a lot of effort into making sure your stay is great
