ok facilities and polite staff but pitches extremely close together to the point cars and tents are pretty much touching, 4x lots of buses of school children camping with no prior warning before booking or arrival. no choice of pitch (family/quiet) meaning around 30 kids kicking balls towards the tents and cars with no other space to pitch elsewhere. seems that the pitches are over capacity and squeezing in rather than it being a relaxing and spacious environment.

Hi I booked a camping pitch with electric. So cannot comment on the hotel etc. No issues at all with the site Good facilities on site loads of showers and toilets. Site was quiet after 1030. No complaints at all. Will return. Regards Neal

We stayed here for a couple of days in June 2026 (mon & tues)on route to the lakes. We found the staff friendly, the site was ok at the time which was really nice. The negatives the shower/toilet blocks were not very clean put me off to be honest using them. Also the washing up facilities were to far away from the main field maybe a suggestion of putting a washing up facilities next to the shower/block...... near the main field. The other is the very busy road of which we struggled to get a decent nights sleep. It felt like we were next to a motorway with thundering lorries going past constantly all night long. Obviously that is not the owners fault just a warning to people you are not going to get the peace & quiet of the yorkshire dales camping there. On another note there is a curfew in place for noise which it 10.30pm unfortunately we had to deal with a group of people who arrived & set up vans in close proximity in a half circle with a gazebo who were talking very loud after 1.30am in the morning ! All in all it is a basic campsite & if you are not bothered about facilities it would be ok for a few nights. Definitely not a campsite for us, we were glad to leave.

Came across this campsite via a video posted by Yorkshire Pop Top Adventures and thought we’d give it a try for a couple of nights over the May bank holiday weekend. We arrived at 3pm and were allocated plot 11 with electric hook up and a fresh water tap nearby. Campsite was busy and had a great vibe with families and couples all mixed together. Location was fantastic right in the heart of Yorkshire Dales and a short 15 minute walk to Austwick where you could find a pub, hotel and local post office that added to the facilities on site. We booked a pizza on the second night and would highly recommend anybody staying to do the same as it was gorgeous and didn’t disappoint. The pub on site served an array of beers and a really decent local ale which went down well particularly because the Game Cock pub wasn’t open (shut on a Monday and Tuesday apparently). Ross and his family were great hosts and you can see how hard they work with their team to ensure the camp site is maintained and respected by the guests. Any questions we had were answered by them which helped us with local walks and on site stuff. We will definitely be coming back here and spending more time exploring the area but maybe when it’s a bit quieter and cooler as the heatwave over the weekend limited the places we could go with the dog. A real gem of a site and a lovely family run feel to the place that we can’t recommend more.
