The Cottage is a converted barn at Lawton Farm in Upper Midhope, a hamlet in the Peak Park area near Sheffield. What you walk into is a single-storey layout where the kitchen, dining space and living room flow together as one – the kind of open plan arrangement that works well for groups who want to cook together or eat while someone watches the fire. Two king beds and one single bed spread across three bedrooms, each with its own television. The shower room has a walk-in shower, and there's a separate toilet. Electricity, heating, bed linen, towels and wifi are all included.
The kitchen comes properly equipped – electric oven, induction hob, dishwasher, fridge-freezer and a coffee machine – so you can cook as little or as much as you want. Out the back is a private garden with a patio and furniture, which is the natural place to sit when weather permits. The property takes two cars in its own parking space, and smoking is not permitted inside.
Upper Midhope is quiet countryside, but not isolated. A pub serving home-made food and a café are roughly a 15-minute walk away. Holmsfirth, famous as a filming location for Last of the Summer Wine, is a short drive, and the surrounding area is well-known for walking, cycling and exploring reservoirs like Langsett. The hamlet itself sits within easy reach of Peak District routes and trails.
