recently stayed at the Hilton Hotel in Sheffield and unfortunately my experience was very disappointing. When I arrived, I was left waiting at reception while three staff members stood on their phones. One white female member of staff made eye contact with me but appeared to deliberately avoid serving me. Eventually, another staff member checked me in, but the level of customer service was extremely poor. The interaction was very minimal — I was simply asked for my details and handed my room key, with no attempt at conversation or making me feel welcome. What made this more frustrating was seeing other guests, who were white, being treated very differently while I, as a brown guest, was not. They were greeted warmly, asked how they were, and even given recommendations for places to eat and things to do. I received none of that. It genuinely felt like the difference in treatment was down to how I looked, which is unacceptable. For the price I paid over £170 I expected a much higher standard of service. Instead, the experience was poor and left a bad impression. I will not be staying here again

Perfect safe and secure stay for a solo traveller. I stayed here recently for a business trip and could not fault anything. All the security measures in place that one would expect from a hotel that cares about guest safety. The room number was communicated discretely, there was an additional secondary lock in the room, keycard lift access and a telephone in the room, plus a text number to speak to reception. The staff were very friendly, I had a quiet peaceful night's sleep and a great breakfast. Absolutely perfect for a business trip and for lone female travellers.

Location, location, location This hotel is very well situated for anything Sheffield city center related, the service is outstanding and the rooms fresh and clean. Reception team on arrival were very accommodating even sending a text once checked in to ask how the rooms were, this customer service level continued throughout the stay with a special mention the the lady in the restaurant at breakfast who went above and beyond helping our three boys (from Hartlepool so she knows who she is) with their breakfast and taking out time to talk to them and make them feel welcome in such unfamiliar surrounds to them. The only negative to mention is the doors need to be fitted with soft close as they make a very loud bang when closing. Overall Perfect for families and the traveling business man alike this hotel is highly recommended and we will stay again. Thanks to the team
