What visitors say

Hossein Kermani

It is a great museum where you can learn a lot about the history of Sheffield and it's industrial culture and past. The staff are very friendly and the building is very nice. I had a feeling of being in 18th century. You can also see giant machines at work and the big Don river engine is such a wooow!

A very interesting place telling you all about the history of Sheffield steel and the rest of industrial sheffield from back in the industrial revolution. All sorts of things on display. The cafe is nice too. Nice staff and not badly priced either.

Such unique place. We managed to see 120year old, giant steam engine to run and it was very exciting. Plenty of rooms with interesting explosions. Free to enter and enjoy. Bunch of restaurants around. (great beer in The Fat Cat).

What a brilliant place to visit. A rich history of Sheffield steel making and cutlery. There are also some vintage vehicles and a huge steam engine which they fire up every hour or so. Should also mention it is free to get in but parking is very limited, even on the surrounding side streets .
