St. Ninian's takes its name from a striking stretch of sand in Shetland—the natural causeway that links the mainland to a small isle. The apartment itself sits on the second floor of a Lerwick building, a short walk from the town centre, the museum, and Clickimin leisure centre with its swimming pool. The setting puts you within reach of Shetland's archaeological heritage, local events like Up Helly Aa, and the wider islands for exploration.
The space is compact but well finished. A combined living and dining area flows into a fitted kitchen with an induction hob, electric oven, dishwasher and washer dryer—everything needed for self-catering. The double bedroom has a smart TV; the shower room includes a heated towel rail. A sofa bed in the living room provides a second sleeping spot. Electricity, Wi-Fi, bed linen and towels are included. Private parking for one car is available, with additional spaces on the street.
The apartment suits couples or solo visitors, and those with young children can request a travel cot and highchair. No smoking is permitted inside. The location makes it a practical base whether you're here for business, a festival, or to use Lerwick as your hub for island walks and visiting Shetland's Bronze Age and Viking sites.

A fantastic place to visit while in Shetland. There is free parking, nearby toilets and a shop. It was misty and rainy when I went but you still get a feel for the natural beauty.

This is a must visit beach on the Mainland. It is in a beautiful setting and easy to access. Car parking is free, with a reasonable number of spaces. The walk across the tombolo to St Ninians Isle is delightful. If you walk over to the island, you'll find the ruins of a chapel.

A wonderful place to visit. With the largest tombolo in the UK. Enjoy a nice walk around the isle, and if you're lucky like us, you'll get to see some puffins at the right time of day and year. Allow yourself a few hours and take some lunch. There are some amazing views from the cliffs where you can sit and enjoy the birdlife. There's also the ruins of an old 12th church to explore. Remember to only leave footprints!

I managed to walk it in about two hours, walking clockwise and staying close the the edge, following the grassy footways. Some extensive views of Shetland the ocean and the rugged coast line and a number of smaller island land masses that have broken off over time. Plenty of sheep grazing the island now and it offers extensive views onto the beach tombola you cross to get to the island.
