What diners say
as someone who literally just finished the final episode of the final season of The Bear right before walking to Chiave, my senses were primed and ready to cast judgement 😂 and let me just tell you, I was beyond impressed with every little detail of this place. My two favorite details were: next to each drink on the menu was a little illustration of the unique glass it would come in. I had never seen this before but I found that to be such a creative way for them to help guests understand the menu and what they could expect from a drink - but what was even more unique and creative was a QR code inviting guests to listen to the soundtrack of their menu. It pulled up a Spotify playlist with a track for each drink! My husband and I both really enjoyed listening to those, and again, had never seen this before in a bar… expanding each individual drink to reach the sense of sound, as well as taste, touch, smell, and sight. I really appreciate how much thought they put into hitting each of these senses for every one of their drinks. I mean how cool is that? The fact that the drinks were delicious was just the cherry on top of this experience. Highly recommend! (Also, yes, our drinks are empty in the photo - unfortunately I didn’t think to take a photo until after we drank them and I knew I’d be writing this review haha)

I recently visited this cocktail bar and, unfortunately, it didn’t live up to expectations. The cocktails were not particularly enjoyable—they leaned heavily on a savory profile with an overpowering lemon juice taste that left my stomach feeling unpleasant shortly after. The atmosphere had its ups and downs. While there was a DJ playing music, the overall vibe downstairs was disappointing. The staircase leading down is extremely narrow and lacks any warning signs, which makes it feel unsafe, especially after a few drinks. Navigating it was worrisome, and I wouldn’t recommend heading down. Upstairs was a better experience, offering a calm and pleasant vibe. However, the drinks were quite expensive, which added to the overall dissatisfaction. That said, the staff were friendly and attentive, which was a positive aspect of the visit. In summary, while the staff were good and the upstairs area had a nice ambiance, the cocktails and safety concerns make it hard for me to recommend this bar.

We were 40 mins late to our reservation but they were SO nice about it. Service and cocktails were great!

Cute cocktail bar in Shoreditch, great drinks. The only downside is the size which makes it quite difficult to get a table on the weekend. I recommend heading there on a weeknight. London cocktail prices.
