Abbots Mead Hotel

Had a one night stay recently in this great location hotel. It was spotlessly clean, with a comfy bed in a quiet area of Shrewsbury. Private parking was a bonus. It was a short walk into town and to the riverside walk. The owner was very helpful and we were grateful that our room was ready early. Advice on where to visit, given a good map and told about a restaurant where we could eat for 20% discount if we said we were staying at this hotel. Service and choice at breakfast was very good. We would not hesitate to stay here again.

Staying in this hotel was a delightful experience. My Wife and I only needed a small room, but ours was warm and smart and very comfortable. The hotel is family owned apparently, and the staff here (family) were the friendliest and most helpful people you could want to meet. The breakfasts were delicious with excellent service, and served in a small and very smart restaurant area. The menu was concise and interesting, with gluten free alternatives offered. The service here is first rate. When my Wife and I returned from our daily excursions in our three day stay, it was to find that, each time, our room had been refreshed with bins emptied and coffee and drinking chocolate sachets etc renewed. All in all, this is a fine comfy hotel offering great service at a great price. Parking in front of the building is adequate but confined, and you may be asked to leave your car keys in reception should you be blocking somebody else's car in. My car was always free to drive off every morning, and this only appears to be an issue in the evening. I highly recommend this hotel.

This hotel is right in the middle of the town, limited parking, though we had no problem. Very nice room with breakfast included, no evening dining room, however there is a menu to hand for one of the local restaurants, which offers 20% discount when staying at the Abbots Mead, it is just a short walk over the bridge. We took advantage of this and subsequently had a fabulous meal. Would definitely return to this hotel, nothing was too much trouble, have to say I had a fabulous nights sleep on the best mattress I had ever slept on.

An excellent hotel that we can highly recommend. Perfectly situated in the heart of Shrewsbury with convenient parking. The staff were extremely helpful, the breakfast was perfect, and we will definitely be staying again.
