Shrewsbury's historic streets and the surrounding Shropshire countryside are within easy reach of Netley Hall Hotel, with golf, fishing, walking and cycling all on the doorstep for those who want to fill their days outdoors. Free on-site parking makes exploring further afield straightforward too, and there are pubs and restaurants nearby for evenings away from the hotel.
The hotel itself has 24 rooms, including family and accessible options, all en-suite, set around gardens that guests consistently single out as a highlight. Some rooms offer views towards distant hills. A few mattresses are showing their age, worth bearing in mind if a firm night's sleep matters to you, but the rooms themselves are well presented.

A games room, picnic area and outdoor seating add to the facilities, along with concierge services, laundry and luggage storage for longer stays. The venue is popular for weddings, and staff are noted for accommodating dietary requirements without fuss, all of which points to a well-run operation that offers solid value for the setting.
What guests say
It's a grand welcome by the beautiful building upin arrival at the estate. We had to press a buzzer to allow us entry which was fine but the gentleman on the end wasn't exactly helpful as to directing us to the cottage we were staying in. There is signage but it's too small and isn't specific in naming which cottages are where so we had a little trouble locating out accommodation. The cottage itself was very spacious and comfortable.

I am writing this review following my stay at your hotel on 27/05/26 and the lack of response I have received after contacting you regarding my experience. Despite submitting a complaint almost three weeks ago, I have still received no response or acknowledgement, which has been extremely disappointing and shows a lack of effort in resolving this matter. During our stay, my brother and I were unable to sleep in the room due to a severe fly infestation and a foul smell, which made the room completely unsuitable. We reported the issue to your staff at the time, but the only solution offered was fly spray. This was not an acceptable resolution considering the number of flies present. After using the spray, dead flies were left throughout the room, including on the beds. We were also informed that the maintenance team would only be available the following morning, meaning the issue could not be resolved during our stay. Due to the condition of the room, we had no choice but to leave and arrange alternative accommodation by staying elsewhere. We have video evidence showing the condition of the room and can provide this if required. Given that we were unable to use the room and the issue was not resolved, we requested a full refund as compensation. However, the lack of response from management has made this experience even more frustrating. I hope this highlights the importance of addressing customer complaints properly and responding in a timely manner. I would appreciate a response and a resolution to this matter.

We had the pleasure of recently celebrating a friend’s wedding at Netley Hall Hotel. As a backdrop on a spring afternoon in April, the hall doesn’t disappoint and offers expansive views over farmland, woodland, and lakes. Finding Netley was easy enough, the postcode worked well and, on arrival, parking was plentiful. The gardens around the house consist of a lawned area, where drinks are hosted, a “private wedding garden” (a hedged, woodland-inspired area with small nooks, ornamental ponds, and feature areas) all reasonably maintained, and finally a gravelled driveway running up to the property. On entering the building, we were presented with a beautifully decorated atrium that cast light throughout the hall. Off the hall was a bar and toilets, again all well presented. The toilets, however, did take the shine off the otherwise superbly suited venue and, with only two toilets serving the ceremony room, there were a few longer queues before the wedding. Nothing that particularly detracted from the event, but nevertheless worth noting. Post-ceremony, we were taken to a secondary location, a barn-style structure styled like a marquee, with sweeping cloth and crystal chandeliers. The wedding breakfast was attentively managed, the food was of good quality and hot, and this time there were plenty of toilets for a wedding party!! Overall, a lovely couple chose a lovely venue that served lovely food to celebrate a lovely occasion.

Hi, It was our third visit to Netley Hall in Shrewsbury. Unfortunately, the staff were very rude. You don’t even get bottled water in the room. If you ask a staff member for water, they bring a jug of water with dirt in it. I asked a staff member if they could add a slice of lemon to the jug, but they said they don’t have lemon in the restaurant. We paid for two rooms. One of them was Room 10, which is on the third floor. The mattress was not comfortable at all. I did not like the night manager. She was very rude and made inappropriate comments. It is a nice place, but because of the staff and the manager, it turned into a very disappointing experience.
