Netley Hall's grounds offer immediate access to walking trails and gardens, while a pub sits less than a mile away—the kind of rural setting where you can step outside and actually go somewhere on foot. The cottage itself is a self-contained two-bedroom property sleeping four, with its own kitchen for cooking and a living area with TV for quieter evenings. Electricity, bed linen and towels are included; you arrive from 4pm and leave by 10am.

Each bedroom has a double bed. The kitchen comes equipped for proper meal preparation rather than just heating things up. You get private parking on the grounds. The main hall's facilities—its gardens and walking areas—are yours to use during your stay. No smoking indoors.

This works well for a couple or small family wanting space to themselves but with the option of structured activities or simply a base for exploring the Shropshire countryside. The grounds themselves justify the stay for anyone who likes being able to walk without getting in a car first.

It's a grand welcome by the beautiful building upin arrival at the estate. We had to press a buzzer to allow us entry which was fine but the gentleman on the end wasn't exactly helpful as to directing us to the cottage we were staying in. There is signage but it's too small and isn't specific in naming which cottages are where so we had a little trouble locating out accommodation. The cottage itself was very spacious and comfortable.

I am writing this review following my stay at your hotel on 27/05/26 and the lack of response I have received after contacting you regarding my experience. Despite submitting a complaint almost three weeks ago, I have still received no response or acknowledgement, which has been extremely disappointing and shows a lack of effort in resolving this matter. During our stay, my brother and I were unable to sleep in the room due to a severe fly infestation and a foul smell, which made the room completely unsuitable. We reported the issue to your staff at the time, but the only solution offered was fly spray. This was not an acceptable resolution considering the number of flies present. After using the spray, dead flies were left throughout the room, including on the beds. We were also informed that the maintenance team would only be available the following morning, meaning the issue could not be resolved during our stay. Due to the condition of the room, we had no choice but to leave and arrange alternative accommodation by staying elsewhere. We have video evidence showing the condition of the room and can provide this if required. Given that we were unable to use the room and the issue was not resolved, we requested a full refund as compensation. However, the lack of response from management has made this experience even more frustrating. I hope this highlights the importance of addressing customer complaints properly and responding in a timely manner. I would appreciate a response and a resolution to this matter.

We had the pleasure of recently celebrating a friend’s wedding at Netley Hall Hotel. As a backdrop on a spring afternoon in April, the hall doesn’t disappoint and offers expansive views over farmland, woodland, and lakes. Finding Netley was easy enough, the postcode worked well and, on arrival, parking was plentiful. The gardens around the house consist of a lawned area, where drinks are hosted, a “private wedding garden” (a hedged, woodland-inspired area with small nooks, ornamental ponds, and feature areas) all reasonably maintained, and finally a gravelled driveway running up to the property. On entering the building, we were presented with a beautifully decorated atrium that cast light throughout the hall. Off the hall was a bar and toilets, again all well presented. The toilets, however, did take the shine off the otherwise superbly suited venue and, with only two toilets serving the ceremony room, there were a few longer queues before the wedding. Nothing that particularly detracted from the event, but nevertheless worth noting. Post-ceremony, we were taken to a secondary location, a barn-style structure styled like a marquee, with sweeping cloth and crystal chandeliers. The wedding breakfast was attentively managed, the food was of good quality and hot, and this time there were plenty of toilets for a wedding party!! Overall, a lovely couple chose a lovely venue that served lovely food to celebrate a lovely occasion.

Hi, It was our third visit to Netley Hall in Shrewsbury. Unfortunately, the staff were very rude. You don’t even get bottled water in the room. If you ask a staff member for water, they bring a jug of water with dirt in it. I asked a staff member if they could add a slice of lemon to the jug, but they said they don’t have lemon in the restaurant. We paid for two rooms. One of them was Room 10, which is on the third floor. The mattress was not comfortable at all. I did not like the night manager. She was very rude and made inappropriate comments. It is a nice place, but because of the staff and the manager, it turned into a very disappointing experience.

People say this wedding venue offers magnificent gardens, stunning rooms, and delicious food, with staff going above and beyond for dietary needs. Guests also highlight the excellent facilities, great value, and plentiful parking.

Some reviews mention the mattresses can be worn.
