About Travelodge Shrewsbury Bayston Hill
A pub and restaurant sit nearby for anyone not fancying an in-room drink, and Travelodge Shrewsbury Bayston Hill keeps things simple with tea and coffee making facilities and drinks available in the room itself. It's a straightforward budget stay rather than a dining destination, but there's enough choice within easy reach for breakfast, lunch or an evening meal out.
The hotel has 39 rooms across two floors, including en-suite and accessible options, all fairly no-frills in style. Some rooms show their age and upkeep can be patchy, so it's worth setting expectations accordingly, though the staff are generally noted as helpful and the 24-hour reception means late arrivals aren't a problem.
Set at the A5/A49 roundabout on the edge of Shrewsbury, the hotel offers free on-site parking, allocated on a first-come, first-served basis, plus an electric vehicle charge point. It's within reach of Shrewsbury town centre and Royal Shrewsbury Hospital, and pets are welcome, making it a practical stop for both business trips and family visits, with a golf course and entertainment options also nearby.

What guests say
Well let me start by saying the reception staff were brilliant. Very helpful, polite and friendly. The rooms though is a different matter. They could all do with ripping apart and starting again. Stained walls and carpets. It looks like the cleaning staff came in on a hovver board did one lap of the room with a duster just moved the dust and dirt around and left. The rooms smelt stale. New mattresses, duvets and pillows are required and the heaters will only go upto 24° which only just take the edge off the cold. (I stayed there Jan thru to Feb for 5 weeks) . I did try to turn the heaters in a few different rooms upto 29°or 30° but within about 10 seconds they defaulted back to 24°. U get the key and get left all week then. No one comes in your room to empty bins or the like. The price went up over £ 120 for 4 nights stay in 5 weeks. Not a very impressive Travel lodge at all. The only 2 things it offers is the staff as said and the location.

The staff was amazing! They helped me with all my luggage, provided me with a baby travel cot which was immaculate! Had lovely fluffy pillows plus extra in the room storage wardrobe also plenty of towels. The room was very warm and welcoming. Had plenty of complimentary tea and coffee..... There is also an asda express across the road plus a burger king. I felt very welcomed by all staff there, including the manager, which was very Lovely! Just a shame I was there under not so good circumstances but other then that the stay was very welcoming for me and my two toddler's. Thank you to all the staff that supported me and my two toddler's while we was there. Natasha smith

Staff really helpful and friendly, this hotel is on the side off the services so no thrills. I found this hotel ideal to get to Telford, Shrewsbury and to North Wales. Plenty of car parking and very safe too. There's no restaurant and no breakfast but you can order breakfast bag from reception. And they don't mind you bringing in food.

I have family in the area but find it convenient to stay at the hotel. I’ve stayed here a few times now, fantastic location, always quiet, parking, staff are friendly, clean, everything you need. See you again next month :-) nothing to complain about :-)
