Curlew Cottage suits couples or small families after a quiet break away, or anyone bringing a dog who will appreciate the enclosed patio garden. Set in countryside near Hope village, this converted barn has two bedrooms—a super king on the first floor with exposed beams and a single accessed from it—plus a shower room. Downstairs, the living and dining space has a woodburning stove, and there's a kitchen with the essentials for self-catering: electric oven, hob, dishwasher and microwave. The property is entirely yours, with parking for two cars on site.

One dog stays free, and the enclosed garden gives them safe space to move around. The surrounding Shropshire Hills are laced with walking routes, and there is plenty within reach: Powys Castle, Wroxeter Roman City, Ironbridge's museums, Shrewsbury's market and independent shops (about 30 minutes' drive), and Ludlow with its medieval castle and food festivals further on. The cottage is not suitable for children under five, as there is an unfenced pond in the grounds. Wi-Fi, heating, bed linen and towels are included. No smoking indoors.
