Shropshire Retreats - Heron Cottage

The landscape around Hope in Shropshire draws walkers and outdoor explorers year-round. Powys Castle, Wroxeter Roman City and the Ironbridge museums are all within reach for days out, while the immediate surroundings offer open countryside to ramble through. Heron Cottage sits semi-detached near the village, positioned to make the most of both the rural setting and these attractions.

Inside, the cottage holds two bedrooms—a super kingsize with its own shower room, and a twin—sleeping four. A woodburning stove warms the main living room, which has a traditional feel with beams and comfortable seating; a second sitting room (accessed via steps) provides extra space or a dedicated dining area. The kitchen is equipped for self-catering, with an oven, hob, dishwasher and all the basics covered. One bathroom serves the ground floor. An enclosed garden with seating looks out over the surrounding hills, though it contains an unfenced pond so families with very young children should note this detail.

One dog can stay free of charge and will find plenty of space to exercise on the grounds and beyond. Parking for two cars is on site. The essentials—heating, electricity, wi-fi, bed linen and towels—are included; logs for the wood burner come with your arrival.
