Shakespeare's Birthplace

It's a great place to take the kids or just for a day out. If you buy a ticket to tge Shakespeare house, you also get entry to Ann Hathaways house, which is walking distance from town, its surrounded in a lovely setting and the gardens around the house are amazing, one ticket allows you access to three different locations and its valid for 12 months, so go back as much as you want. It's not only an enjoyable day out but the kids actually learn something, because of the guided tours. I'd definitely recommend a visit to Shakespeares townhouse. I enjoyed it so much, over the last 3 years I've visited once every year. Luckily the weather was always good.

Visiting **Shakespeare’s Birthplace** was easily one of the highlights of our trip to Stratford-upon-Avon. Stepping into the 16th-century half-timbered house on Henley Street really makes history come alive. ### Highlights of the Experience: ***Knowledgeable Staff:** The costumed guides in each room were exceptional—engaging, deeply knowledgeable, and eager to share fascinated details about Tudor family life and John Shakespeare’s glove-making trade. ***Exhibition:** The *Becoming Shakespeare* intro gallery gave great context before walking through the house itself. The site is very well preserved and maintained by the Shakespeare Birthplace Trust. Highly recommended for history buffs, literature fans, or anyone looking for a authentic glimpse into Tudor England!

My visit was just wonderful today! The welcome from the staff and the friendliness of the staff throughout was lovely, thank you! Having not visited for many years it felt like I'd never visited which was great. The exhibition was very good and informative. There were young children from a school being 'guides' in some of the rooms and read out information which was a nice touch. I didn't spend as long as I anticipated her but very much enjoyed my visit, and hope to visit again in the next 12 months. Thank you

Visiting Shakespeare’s Birthplace was genuinely one of the highlights of my recent trip to the UK. The whole area has such a charming atmosphere — a cute little square filled with hustle and bustle, lovely small shops, and of course Shakespeare’s historic home at the center of it all. I also loved seeing the Shakespeare statue standing proudly in the square, which made the whole experience feel even more special and timeless. As someone who has been a huge fan of Shakespeare for years, this visit meant a lot to me personally. Shakespeare’s works were some of the very first books that introduced me to literature beyond simple childhood storybooks, so finally being able to visit the place connected to him felt surreal in the best way. Walking around the area, browsing the bookshop and gift stores, and just soaking in the atmosphere made it feel like such a meaningful stop. If you’re a fan of literature, history, or simply beautiful historic towns, this is absolutely worth visiting.
