Herdwick

Herdwick is a shepherd hut on a 50-acre working property in Somerset. The single bedroom contains a standard double bed; the living area has a pull-down double for extra guests, making four the maximum capacity. Everything is on one level. A kitchen with an electric cooker and fridge adjoins the dining space, and a shower room completes the layout. The wood-burning stove uses logs that are supplied, along with Wi-Fi, electricity, bed linen and towels. There is parking for one car on site and a large garden with seating and a barbecue. No smoking is permitted inside.

The hut sits among shared grounds that belong to the owner and other holiday properties. Walking distance brings you to a pub; Taunton's shops and restaurants are a short drive away. Doniford Bay beach lies 11 miles south. The surrounding area offers access to walks across fields and into the Quantock Hills, while Exmoor National Park is nearby for exploration. Arrival is after 15:00 and checkout before 10:00.
