Jacob Hut

The Quantock Hills rise around Jacob Hut, a shepherd's hut set within 50 acres of natural grounds on the edge of the Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Rolling fields stretch toward Exmoor National Park, with a pub a short walk away across the land. The coast at Doniford Bay lies eleven miles south, and Taunton is eight miles north for supplies and entertainment.

The single room functions as living space, bedroom and kitchen combined. It holds a pull-down double bed (4ft 6in), a single sofa bed suitable for a child, and an open-plan kitchen with an electric hob. Two wood-burning stoves warm the hut. The shower room is compact with a cubicle shower and toilet. Ground-floor access means just two steps to the entrance. Electricity, bed linen, towels and logs for the stoves are included, plus Wi-Fi. There is parking for one car on site.

A wood-fired hot tub is available for additional cost. The hut suits couples, small families, or friends seeking quiet time near walking routes, though children under eight are not suitable for the single sofa bed. No smoking is permitted.
