Seagate Cottage

Seagate Cottage dates from the 17th century and retains the character of a traditional thatched property, positioned directly across the road from Minehead's seafront. The ground floor contains a kitchen with electric cooker and fridge-freezer, a twin bedroom with two single beds, and a bathroom fitted with bath, shower and heated towel rail, plus a washing machine and dryer. Upstairs, the living room has views toward the bay along with a TV and DVD player, while the double bedroom also looks out over the water. A separate toilet on the first floor means the two bedrooms don't compete for facilities.

One well-behaved dog stays free and the owners provide bowls and throws to settle them in. The beach opposite permits dogs from September through May, and other dog-friendly stretches of coast lie nearby. Parking is on the road outside. Wi-Fi, electricity, bed linen and towels are included; the cottage is entirely yours for the duration.

Minehead itself offers independent shops, restaurants, pubs and cafés within walking distance. The West Somerset Steam Railway runs from close by, and Exmoor's network of walking routes spreads across the surrounding countryside. Dunster Castle and its medieval village sit just a couple of miles inland, while the Victorian resort towns of Lynmouth and Lynton are a short drive away.
