North Huckham is a detached Victorian property set within substantial grounds at the margin of Exmoor National Park, accessed via a rough track that signals its rural position. The house commands views across its own private pond, and on clear nights the Dark Sky status of the moor means the sky fills with stars. The large garden includes a sitting area with furniture, and a working wood burner means log fires are possible from the start of your stay.
Inside, three bedrooms sleep six: a kingsize with ensuite shower on the first floor, a second room with double and single bed (the single for flexible use only), and a third double. A separate bathroom has a bath with shower, and the ground floor includes a spacious living room with woodburner, a kitchen and dining area fitted with cooker, dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer, plus a separate toilet. Parking for three cars is on site. Wifi, heating, bed linen and towels are all covered.
Dulverton, a short drive away, has local shops and restaurants. The South West Coast Path and Exmoor's inland walking are immediate draws; Minehead's sandy beach and harbour lie nearby, as do Lynmouth and Lynton with the Watersmeet gorge and cliff railway. The West Somerset Railway and Dunster Castle are also within reach. Note that the garden contains an unfenced pond and open well, 20 yards from the house. Smoking is not permitted.
