West Hollowcombe Farm - Kiri

Photo: beth butcher

West Hollowcombe Farm - Kiri is a substantial cottage sleeping six across three bedrooms and two bathrooms. The ground floor centres on a generous open-plan living and dining area with a woodburner, comfortable seating and a large table for meals together. The kitchen is fully equipped for cooking, and one bedroom with ensuite sits on this level. Upstairs, two further bedrooms include a galleried room, giving the property the feel of a home rather than a holiday let where everyone can spread out.

Essentials like heating, electricity, bed linen and Wi-Fi are covered. One pet is welcome. The cottage sits on a small working farm near Dulverton in Somerset, with private parking for two cars and a south-facing patio overlooking the countryside. The wider grounds include a children's play area and shared garden space. Smoking is not permitted indoors.

From here you can reach Tarr Steps, Wimbleball Lake for walks and cycling, and the North Devon coast within a reasonable drive. Dunster, Porlock and the Valley of Rocks are all nearby. The size and layout make it equally suited to a large family staying put or a group gathering for a week together.

We had such a memorable stay at West Hollowcombe. If you're travelling with your horse, you couldn't ask for a better location. The farm has well kept stables, tack/feed rooms and great grazing. The bridleways around Hawkridge are arguably some of the finest in the South, and the views across Exmoor's rolling hills from the accommodation are breathtaking. The accommodation is surrounded by beautiful grounds, with easy access to walking routes, and a charming pub within walking distance (serving super delicious food.) Then there's the famous Tarr Steps on your doorstep with its stunning riverside walks. What made our stay extra special were the hosts, Tom and Hannah. They are such a warm and welcoming couple, and together with their family they made us feel completely at home. We felt very well looked after throughout our stay. The accommodation itself was perfect, thoughtfully designed, and equipped with everything we needed for a relaxing break. I can't recommend West Hollowcombe highly enough and will certainly be returning, horse in tow. Thank you, Tom and Hannah, for making our trip so special. We can't wait to come back.

Beautiful rural location. Our family group rented the whole place and were able to relax, socialise and make the most of this wonderful setting. Visited Tarr Steps, walked along the river in Dulverton, also the river walk on the farm itself. So tranquil and charming. Tom and Hannah were attentive without intruding, we truly felt at ease and comfortable. Thank you for providing us with the chance to bring a busy and far spread family together for a celebration to cherish.

We had an absolutely fantastic 5-day stay at West Hollowcombe Farm! My wife, our two children (8 and 1), and I felt instantly at home the moment we arrived. The setting is breathtaking — rolling hills, peaceful fields, and the kind of fresh country air you just can’t bottle. The accommodation was spotless, cosy, and full of charm, with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The kids were in heaven — our eldest loved exploring the farm and spotting the animals, while the little one was mesmerised by every new sight and sound. The location is perfect for exploring local sites. We ventured out each day and found so much to see: beautiful walks, quaint villages, and family-friendly attractions all within easy reach. But honestly, some of our favourite moments were just spent on the farm, enjoying the views and slowing down. Hannah and Tom were warm, welcoming, and full of great local tips. You can tell they truly care about making your stay special. If you’re looking for a place where the kids can have adventures, the adults can unwind, and everyone leaves with big smiles, West Hollowcombe Farm is it. We can’t wait to come back!
