Wick Mill

Photo: Wick Mill

Bridgwater sits on the edge of Somerset's countryside, within reach of the Quantock Hills. Wick Mill is a converted barn here, privately yours for the duration of your stay. One bedroom sleeps two; the bathroom is on the ground floor with a walk-in shower. Upstairs, a galleried bedroom contains a super king-size bed accessed by a spiral staircase.

The ground floor is open-plan, with living and dining areas separated from the kitchen by a breakfast bar. French doors open onto a patio and garden that slopes down to a stream—a setting for sitting out in warmer months. Inside, there's a smart TV for evenings. The kitchen has an electric oven, hob and microwave for self-catering. Underfloor heating and electricity are included, along with Wi-Fi, bed linen and towels. One dog can stay free. Smoking is not permitted. Two cars can park on the drive.

The location suits couples seeking quiet countryside without being remote; a pub lies within a mile. Note that the stream is unfenced and there are electric fences nearby, so the property is not suitable for children under 18.

My partner, I and our dog have stayed in the cottage on different occasions. The place is beautiful, clean, comfortable with a fully equipped kitchen to cook, it is a peaceful place as you are surrounded by nature. Easy to check in and out, great communication with Vickie who was able to accommodate some of our requests. Would definitely go back, great experience, thank you xxx

We can't recommend this little gem enough. We had a perfect few days there, but wished we'd booked longer. Everything has been thought about, to make the stay perfect. Our dog even slept on the dog bed, which he never does at home...he prefers to eat them here. Highly recommend a trip to Watchet...the most beautiful little place, and St Audrie's bay for the waterfall. We will be back, hopefully when we can guarantee better weather, because October has been a bit damp. Thank you for your attention to detail, because it made our stay perfectly comfortable.

I don't think I can put in to words how amazing Wick Mill is and was. Beautiful setting and accommodation was also clean and just so pretty. I didn't want to leave. Also the effort and time given to make sure I knew plenty of places to visit and where to go for food and drinks that are dog friendly. I can not recommend Wick Mill highly enough. My first holiday on my own with my dog and couldn't of asked for a better experience. 10 out of 10 just fantastic, beautiful and so much to do and see ❤️❤️❤️
