About The Babbling Brook

Steaks served sizzling on hot volcanic rocks are the signature at The Babbling Brook, a pub B&B in Shurton, just outside Bridgwater in Somerset. It's the kind of place where the food does the talking, and the Sunday carvery in particular draws a loyal crowd for its generous portions.

Beyond the dining room, guests have access to a bar, free WiFi and 24-hour reception, so arrivals outside normal hours aren't a problem. Meeting rooms are also available on-site, making it a practical option for those combining business with an overnight stay. Staff are noted for being friendly, professional and accommodating, and prices are considered reasonable for what's on offer. On-site parking is another convenience worth noting.

The Weston Seaquarium is within reach for a day out, and Bridgwater itself lies a short distance away for anyone wanting to explore further into the area. It's a straightforward, well-run base in a quiet corner of Somerset, built around good food and easy comforts rather than frills.

Me and my family of 6 visited here on Friday the 29th of may for steak night and this place definitely didn’t disappoint. From the young lad who took our order to the lady on the bar were very polite and accommodating with great service and also the lady who brought out our food. From our starters to the main which were steaks cooked on hot rocks to desert was incredible it was that good we went back on Sunday the 31st we booked for half 2 and were there until 5 and the service by the young lad again and Steph behind the bar to the chef who helped my wife to pick a coffee were fantastic people and very helpful. This place I would definitely recommend ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ we didn’t stay as we were staying near by so we didn’t see the rooms but this was a great place to eat

Wonderful place, staff and food! We stayed for our anniversary and ate in the Willow Lodge and the staff couldn’t do enough for us. The food was gorgeous and the rooms very clean and tidy and we loved the bee theme. Breakfast hamper was great and we had a late checkout, making our anniversary one to remember. Definitely recommend it.

This is an absolutely awesome place, staff are amazing, food is amazing, place is amazing. One of my favourites yet. Had ribeye on volcanic rock self cooking at the table, what a great idea. Best steak ever. Highly recommend The Babbling Brook. We found the place by accident and stopped for drinks and a meal and now have booked to have our anniversary there. Love it that much! Thank you
