Tranquillity Lodge is a ground-floor cottage built on the owners' 5-acre smallholding in South Ayrshire, positioned right on the River Ayr Walk—a path that runs from source to sea through the Ayrshire landscape. The setting suits walkers, cyclists and anyone drawn to open countryside. One pet stays free of charge.
Inside are two bedrooms (one double, one with two singles), a bathroom with shower, and a combined living, dining and kitchen space on a single level. The double bedroom has an ensuite toilet. Heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and wifi are all provided; the kitchen has a gas cooker, microwave and fridge-freezer for self-catering. A highchair is available if needed. French doors open onto a front garden with seating and a terrace where you can sit out; there is parking for two cars on site.
The Ayrshire Coastal Path, a 100-mile walk along one of Britain's finest coastlines, is within reach. Inland, Culzean Castle, Burns heritage sites, golf courses and riding are all nearby, while Ayr itself—a traditional seaside resort—is a short drive away. The beach is 3 miles off. Smoking is not permitted in the lodge. Note that there are steps in the grounds.
