Slapton Ley Nature Reserve, where otters and migrant birds gather on a lagoon-like lake, sits within reach of Otter House. The South West Coast Path starts practically at the gate for coastal walks ranging from gentle to challenging. The beaches themselves are a short drive away, and South Devon's attractions are scattered throughout the area for exploring on days you leave the grounds.
This Regency-era house spreads across seven bedrooms and five bathrooms across two floors, sleeping fourteen. The ground floor holds a bedroom with an ensuite and its own kitchenette, useful for guests who want some independence. Two separate lounges mean groups can split up without argument—one has a woodburner, the other a wood-burning stove. A conservatory overlooks the gardens, and there is a games room with billiards for rainy afternoons. The kitchen is fitted for proper cooking, with a dishwasher and space for the whole party to gather for meals. Bedrooms upstairs include doubles, singles, zip-and-link beds and bunks to accommodate various combinations; most have ensuite bathrooms.
The 2.5 acres wrap around the house: an enclosed front garden with patio and barbecue, and a larger rear space where ducks inhabit ponds. Parking for seven cars sits in the yard with more spaces behind the stable block. One dog can stay free. Wifi, electricity, bed linen and towels are provided; the essentials for self-catering are covered. No smoking indoors.

I had a puzzle bought for me by my daughter for father's day. Unfortunately there was one piece missing. Contacted Otter House sales/support team. Within a couple of emails they had dispatched a replacement puzzle free of charge. I know having an incomplete/faulty item is frustrating, especially in a jigsaw puzzle, but life/it happens. What's important is how the company deals with it. Otter House were excellent/superb/brilliant, responsive and friendly in dealing with my issue. Everything was resolved within 24 hours of my first contact. Izzy (Isabelle) was superb as my point contact, asked qualifying questions (which I would expect) and offered me a replacement once facts were established. No arguing, deflection or waffle. Straight forward excellent customer service. In my role as a CX Consultant I support and advise clients globally on delivering good, fair and effective customer service. This from Otter House is one of the best, where I have been on the receiving end as a customer. Izzy and Otter House should be proud of themselves. Keep it up. And keep making brilliant jigsaws (please)

You say you are environmentally responsible but your Christmas Cards are printed in China. That's a lot of air or sea miles.

Bought a beautiful mug while on holiday in Devon ...it was meant for a friends present as a momento from my holiday. On arriving home I read the box. IT WAS MADE IN CHINA ? As you are in Exexrer I was very disapointed. I would have paid double for it to be locally made !!!!
