About Stoke Lodge Hotel

Stoke Lodge sits just outside the village of Stoke Fleming, on the South West Coast Path around two miles from Dartmouth, in three acres of grounds that include lawns, mature trees and a tennis court. The hotel has been run by the same family for decades and has a settled, unfussy feel that suits families and longer stays rather than a fashionable city break.

Twenty-two guest rooms range from standard doubles to family rooms and sea-view options, and the hotel's Wildflower restaurant serves breakfast through to dinner using largely local ingredients. Both an indoor and an outdoor swimming pool are open to residents, with the outdoor pool a particular draw in summer, and the gardens include a putting green and a giant chess set that keep younger guests occupied.

Blackpool Sands is a short drive away and Dartmouth itself is easily reached by car or along the coast path, making Stoke Lodge a practical, space-rich alternative to staying in the town centre itself.

12 of us enjoyed a fabulous Sunday Lunch at the hotel. We eat out regularly on Sundays as a group and we are spoilt for choice locally with some great pubs. Our first time at Stoke Lodge but it definitely won’t be the last. I usually avoid lamb as it is often disappointing but it was delicious. The porchetta was great too. Generous portions, lovely veg ( including cauliflower cheese) and really good value. The following week we travelled further afield to a pub with a reputation for exceptional food and it didn’t come close to our meal at Stoke Lodge. Friendly staff and great wine list too. We will definitely be back .

Stayed here overnight to attend a family celebration in Dartmouth and would definitely come again. The staff were so courteous, friendly and helpful and awarded us a personal service that so many of the accommodation chains are unable to offer these days. We were able to make our booking by telephone and speak to a real person!! The quality of the rooms and meals served were also excellent. Very relaxing stay, very good value and would highly recommend.

My husband and I stayed for the festive break package, arriving Christmas Eve until the day after Boxing Day . This was our first Christmas away , so we were a bit unsure what to expect. Well what can I say other than amazing!! Lovely small hotel run by a wonderful couple, supported by their family and team. Food was out of this world and plentiful! Staff were all friendly and welcoming. We had a lovely walk Christmas morning to Blackpool sands. Christmas dinner was on another level! The chef and kitchen staff were all amazing! We walked to Dartmouth on Boxing Day and the hotel even arranged a lift back. Nothing was too much trouble and we were treated so well. Too well in fact as we on the list to go back next year! Thank you all fr making our Christmas so enjoyable and memorable.

Run by Alex and Myles along with their respective families this place is full of heart. We loved our stay. The service was excellent. Every member of staff was warm, friendly and accommodating. Our room was newly renovated and beautiful with it. It was generous in size with a separate room for the children. The bathroom was large and had a few features that were really smart - an integrated tooth brush charger, a little light by the loo that came on when you approached it and also a mirror with built in light. There was also usb and usbc chargers by the bed. The food was incredible. We were blown away. The chef was outstanding and served us food we will never forget. The hot breakfast was delicious and the buffet had some really classy touches - home made granola, home made muffins, home made purées in the yogurt etc. The evening meal was a la carte. It was some of the best food we’ve ever tasted. My family came for a meal, they are local and my aunty has already planned a return visit. The location is perfect for exploring the South Hams coastline. We have family in Devon so visited all our favourite spots, but if you aren’t familiar with Devon the hotel is positioned perfectly to explore lots of different beaches.
