This converted barn at South Allington dates back generations but has been thoughtfully updated for modern stays. The Coach House is set just outside Kingsbridge in the South Hams, with a beach a mile away and countryside on the doorstep. The whole property is yours alone, sleeping up to seven across two bedrooms plus a sofa bed in the living room.
Downstairs, the open-plan kitchen and dining space has everything you need to cook—electric oven, dishwasher, microwave and full-sized fridge—while the living room offers a sofa bed, television and DVD player. A utility room with washer-dryer sits next to a ground-floor toilet. Upstairs, one bedroom has a double and bunk beds with an ensuite bath and shower; the other has a double and a single bed with an ensuite shower room. Both have heated towel rails and hairdryers. Three cars can park on site, with more space beyond. One dog is welcome here, though must stay on a lead as sheep graze nearby. The rear garden has furniture and a barbecue, and guests can use the shared tennis court and croquet lawn within the grounds. Wi-Fi, heating, electricity, bed linen and towels are included.

Me and some friends camped here for a couple nights and thoroughly enjoyed the stay - the facilities were all in good condition with hot showers and a very clean toilet / shower block. All the facilities needed were available including washing up sinks, plug sockets for hair dryers / phone chargers, freezer etc. It would be worth noting there is no internet connection on site but that wasn’t a major issue for us. Short drive into numerous beaches nearby - do need to use one lane, small country roads but again, this wasn’t a huge issue as fairly quiet roads and numerous passing points. A huge bonus was the stunning grounds where you camp with sheep in the nearby field and picturesque pond and wildlife. Would definitely recommend :)

We camped. Location/setting good, You can walk to the coast or nearest pub/shop from the house using either the road or footpaths. Toilet/shower block as norm. A bit worn but cleaned every day, plenty of toilet roll and hot showers. It's a lovely small camp site. Only downside was no WiFi but I'm not really quite sure how much that really matters!! If you don't like narrow country lanes, this site is not for you.

I spent many childhood holidays here. Some of my fondest memorises it’s been a few years since I’ve had the chance to visit I now have a child of my own and hope to share many more memories here. Back to the actual place itself when I last visited it was run by a family the very kind lady of the house was called Barbara she was such a kind and tentative host. She accommodated mine and my many questions and always welcomed us into the kitchen to help and to of course see Barney their lovely doggy at the time. I believe it was her partner and sons that tended the land and kept the place looking stunning it was the first place I fished at their lake and the first and only place I got to play croquet and we love it as kids. The sound of pigeons in the morning to this day takes me back to this very place. It’s a happy place that I often visit in my mind at least. Stunning land there were these lovely trees that bared a rope swing we spent many hours taking turns meeting other kids here. Playing frisbee and hide and seek. Fantastic secluded beach not far away, family activities local too. Peaceful retreat for parents and an amazing adventure for kids a family break that won’t be forgotten.
