Torcross beach and Slapton Ley Nature Reserve lie within easy reach of Swallows' Flight – The Nest, making this South Devon cottage a natural base for coastal exploration. Kingsbridge and Dartmouth are close enough for independent shops and waterside meals, while Coleridge Dairy just across the lane stocks fresh milk and meat from vending machines. The village of Chillington has a pub and a slower rhythm than larger towns.
The property sleeps four in one bedroom (a kingsize bed) plus a sofa bed in the open-plan living area. There is one bathroom and one ensuite, both with bath and shower. The kitchen handles proper cooking – electric oven, hob, dishwasher, microwave – and a log burner makes evenings warm. A private hot tub for four sits in the front courtyard, which also has a firepit and barbecue. Wi-Fi, heating, bed linen and towels are included. Two cars can park on the private drive. No smoking throughout.
The cottage suits couples or small families wanting to base themselves somewhere quiet while having beaches and market towns on the doorstep. Underfloor heating and a hot tub mean comfort in cooler months; the courtyard and surrounding grounds invite slower days too.

We have just booked our 5th trip here after returning from our 4th. The location is perfect and is close driving distance to lots of fabulous things. Even after 4 visits we keep discovering new things to do. The accommodation itself is full of everything you need and more. There are lots of personal touches which make it feel like home. The view of the stars from the hot tub is always beautiful. What makes this place unlike anything else is how kind and wonderful both Lucia and Dan are. They really go out their way to make sure we have everything we need. I cannot recommend it enough.

What a fabulous place to spend the holidays! We stayed for 4 nights at Swallows Flight in the Fledgling Barn, and loved it. Great location, close to some amazing beaches, and plenty of things to do nearby with young children. As for the barn itself, there are not enough superlatives! Lucia is also a fantastic host. Fully recommended!

Lucia is an amazing host, at this truly adorable place to stay. The interiors are meticulously appointed, and can be enjoyed as a romantic escape or small family break. The location is fantastic, never more than 30 minutes from an array of amazing beaches in all directions, and with THE most amazing village pub! You a greeted by a very generous welcome basket, complimented by an array of ice cream from the local Salcombe dairy. The accommodation is immaculate, with the bathroom stocked with top quality pampering products. A private hot tub just adds to the indulgent CW. My small tribe will be back to enjoy Lucia and her hospitality in the not too distant future.

What an amazing weekend! My three sons and I stayed in the airstream which was very comfortable and fun for the boys. The location is idyllic and the hospitality of Lucia and Dan matches this special place. The wood fired hot tub created an amazing atmosphere under the stars. Lucia, Dan and their wonderful children went the extra mile to make our boys weekend truly memorable. We will return but I think our boys only trip will become a family one 😉😂
