Ashley Cottage
South Kesteven
Ashley Cottage is a three-bedroom, two-bathroom Grade II listed property in the village of Colsterworth, sleeping up to five guests. The cottage is stone-built and dates back to 1705, when it operated as a bakery serving the Great North Road. Its former commercial use means unusually high ceilings and distinctive character throughout.
The ground floor contains a kitchen with gas hob, electric oven, dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer, plus a separate dining area. Two reception rooms provide comfortable seating and entertainment—one has a 42-inch television and Sky, the other an electric fire. Upstairs, the main bedroom features a four-poster king-size bed with an ensuite shower; two further bedrooms, one with a four-poster double and one single, share a family bathroom with bath and shower. Bed linen, towels, wifi and heating are included. One dog can stay free of charge; the enclosed garden with courtyard and furniture provides outdoor space. Parking is on the road, and there is no smoking inside.
Colsterworth sits near the A1, making it straightforward to reach from north and south, while a bus stop within walking distance connects to Grantham's railway station. The area has a strong historical draw—Isaac Newton's home and the National Trust's Woolsthorpe Manor are nearby—and a pub sits within a mile of the cottage.
