Grantham House is a large property arranged over three floors with space enough for fifteen guests. The lower ground floor has a games room and cinema room, the ground floor contains the main living and dining areas with a wood burner, and a well-equipped kitchen with range cooker and full appliances. Bedrooms are spread across the ground and first floors: five rooms in total, ranging from singles to zip-and-link beds that can be configured as doubles. Three bathrooms and a separate toilet serve the property. An enclosed garden with seating area is accessible from the living space, and there is parking for five cars on site.

What makes this a genuine base for a larger group is that everyone gets actual room to spread out. The games room and cinema room downstairs mean children and adults can entertain themselves separately from the main living spaces. Bed linen, towels, wi-fi and the first load of wood for the burner are included; the kitchen is set up for self-catering, with a dishwasher and washing machine to handle the practical side of a big gathering. One well-behaved dog can stay free of charge.

St Wulfram's Church stands nearby, and the Lincolnshire-Nottinghamshire border sits close by, putting you within reach of both counties' attractions. The town centre is walkable from the property. Smoking is not permitted inside.

Grantham House is a Grade I listed 14th-century townhouse on Castlegate that operates as a charming, free-to-enter community space and National Trust site. Tucked away right in the busy town center, it acts as a quiet urban oasis spanning seven acres of peaceful walled gardens and meadows running down to the River Witham. Inside, the property showcases a fascinating blend of architectural history—including medieval doorways, Elizabethan remodeling, and a Georgian facade—alongside a cozy, on-site café and a second-hand bookshop.

Grantham House is such a lovely hidden spot in the centre of town. Even though only a very small part of the house is open to view, the space you can access is full of charm. The real highlight for me is the café. Warm, welcoming, and a perfect place to relax with great coffee and cake. The gardens are peaceful and easy to get around, with level paths that work well for wheelchairs. Accessibility overall is excellent. There’s a genuinely impressive accessible toilet: loads of space for a large wheelchair, well‑placed grab rails, and a layout that actually feels properly thought through. Staff and volunteers are friendly and always happy to help without being overbearing. There is off road disabled parking available when booked ahead, that leads straight into the main courtyard. A brilliant little National Trust spot — inclusive, calm, and well worth a visit.

Little gem of place..Visited the monthly market. Not that many stalls, but what was there was of good quality and good to see local businesses being supported. Lovely cafe with view to garden in the house and outdoor seating. Had stroll through the small but very well appointed garden. Thoroughly enjoy going here and would recommend.
