You walk straight into a living room with a woodburner, and from there the ground floor opens up sensibly—kitchen with full cooking equipment, a games room with table tennis, utility spaces, and a shower room. Upstairs are four bedrooms (three doubles and one with two singles) plus a bathroom with a bath. The barn sleeps seven and you have it entirely to yourselves. Wi-Fi, heating, bed linen and towels are all included.
The real draw is the setting and what surrounds it. The property sits on a quiet footpath between Uffington and Barholm, with open fields and countryside walks starting from the garden. You can follow routes through farmland and along hedgerows; the area holds deer, red kites and owls. The back garden has a sitting area and barbecue, plus a private outdoor swimming pool (7m × 4m × 3m, open May to September, 10:00 to 17:00). There's parking for four cars on site. One dog is welcome to stay at no extra charge, provided it's kept on a lead.
Stamford, a stone-built market town, is four miles away. Burghley House and its grounds are nearby for a day out. The village setting suits families wanting space and quiet, couples after a proper escape, and anyone who walks seriously rather than strolls occasionally.
