The Holt

Stamford's Georgian architecture and the Burghley Horse Trials are nine miles away, while Market Deeping offers shops and a pub three miles off. The surrounding countryside has walking and cycling routes enough for a week's exploring, and the village of Baston is close by if you need provisions mid-stay.

The Holt occupies three acres beside the River Glen, with a further eight enclosed acres across the water accessible by private riverside walk. Three bedrooms—a double, a kingsize and two singles—each have an ensuite with walk-in shower and heated towel rail. The ground floor is open-plan living and kitchen; the kitchen has an electric oven, hob, dishwasher and all the basics for cooking. Outside, a lawned garden runs to a substantial patio overlooking the river and the grazing animals in the fields beyond. A shared tennis court sits on the grounds, and if you've brought a dog, there's a large enclosed area where it can run loose. Fishing is available with a licence. Parking for three cars and an electric vehicle charging point are on site.

One small dog stays free. Electricity, heating, bed linen, towels and wifi are included, along with logs for the woodburner. No smoking throughout.
