Couples and small families will find Orchard Barn works well for a week away or short break. The conversion sits on the edge of countryside near Peacock Lodge Thurlton, with level access throughout and everything on the ground floor—a practical setup for those who value ease of movement. Two bedrooms, each with its own shower room, mean no negotiation over bathrooms. One bed is a super king; the other a standard king. The open-plan living space has a woodburner, smart television and dining area that opens to a kitchen properly equipped for cooking—electric oven, gas hob, dishwasher, air fryer and the rest.
Outside, a private garden has seating and a gas barbecue for evening meals. One dog stays free and welcomes are genuinely geared toward them, though livestock grazes nearby so dogs need to stay on lead beyond the grounds. Parking is on site. Essentials like heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and wifi are all included. A travel cot and highchair are available if needed.
Walking routes start from the doorstep; the village shop and pub are within reach on foot, and a chain ferry across the river links to further riverside paths and another pub on the far bank. The area has restaurants and country pubs scattered through the surrounding villages, making it a base for exploring rather than a destination in itself.
