You arrive at Pottles Retreat to find everything on one level: the front door opens straight into an open-plan living space with a kitchen area at one end, a sitting area with smart TV and doors onto a veranda, and a double bedroom and shower room completing the layout. The cottage is detached, well insulated, and heated throughout. Bed linen, towels, wifi and electricity are all included; the kitchen has an electric oven and hob, and there is a car parking space on site.
Outside, a lawned garden with sitting-out area and furniture surrounds the lodge, which sits within fenced grounds accessed by a gate. The views look out over open fields with no light pollution at night. A riverside pub is within walking distance, and the Norfolk Broads—a network of waterways popular for boating, fishing and nature walks—is nearby. The setting suits two people seeking a quiet base for exploring the area or simply spending time away from noise and crowds. No smoking is permitted inside.

Excellent self catering cottage in a quiet part of Surlingham. Well equipped kitchen, lounge, double bedroom downstairs and a small mezzanine bedroom upstairs suitable for 1 or 2 children. Lovely walks around the village and especially at nearby Wheatfen nature reserve.
