What diners say
The food was very good. I ordered a lamb biryani which is hard to find in the states. No free tap water seems a European thing. I just flew in from Portugal and it was same over there. It’s a culture shock for Americans…I know. My waiter (AJ) was very attentive and the owner was super nice as well. The kitchen seemed clean (they are displaying it proudly) and cooks looked professional. I am quite sure you don’t find that in other Indian restaurants (anywhere in the world). I didn’t want to go the Indian restaurants on the Brick Lane because they were full of tourists (on Saturday night), and seemed a bit overpriced. It turned out it was a wise decision I made. Give it a try. You won’t be disappointed. I saw a few regular customers came in for dinner with their wife or girlfriend. That means they trust it. So do you. The only downside is the restaurant is not on the Brick Lane but that means it is a hidden gem!

I went to this Indian restaurant yesterday with two friends, on the recommendation of a friend who used to go there often when she lived in London and she was absolutely right: it’s so good! The owner is kind, welcoming, and really knows his stuff. He suggested what to order based on our tastes and what we were in the mood for, and everything turned out perfect. We had chicken and vegetable curry (the chicken was super tender and flavorful), delicious samosas, and really good garlic naan and prata. Service was quick and friendly. The place is small but cozy, and the atmosphere is so warm and inviting. We were really happy with everything. Highly recommend! 🙌

On our recent trip to London, we stopped in to Meraz for lunch on a recommendation from our Rick Steves guidebook and we were NOT disappointed. The food was excellent, perfectly seasoned, and so much better than we can get in the States. I’m still thinking about the chicken tikka masala I had with the veggies on the skillet… We also had the opportunity to meet the owner who was so excited to talk about his restaurant and chat with us about our trip. All around, it was a great experience and we will definitely be returning the next time we are in London.

We had a lovely time. The food was really good and the service even better! It’s located on a side street to a long street of restaurants where people are standing outside trying to pull you in. This place wasn’t like that at all, and we’re happy we chose the hidden gem over one of the places on the busy street. Highly recommend!
