About The Old Station Guest House
Stravithie Bridge, just outside St Andrews in Fife, is a quiet spot for a night or two, and it's here that The Old Station Guest House makes the most of its unusual past. Once a working railway station, the building has been turned into a themed B&B where former train carriages have been converted into individual suites, each with its own character.
Rooms come with en-suite bathrooms, and there are family and accessible options among them, along with free WiFi and drinks available in room. Breakfast is Scottish in style, and packed lunches can be arranged for guests heading out for the day. Outside, there's a garden, picnic area and outdoor seating, plus a games room for evenings in, and the guest house even has its own golf green on site.
Free on-site parking makes it easy to explore further afield, with golf, fishing, cycling and walking all nearby, as well as pubs, restaurants and other entertainment within reach. It's a distinctive base for anyone visiting St Andrews who wants somewhere with a bit of history attached to the stay.

Spent 2 nights in this Airbnb.. It was wonderful, never been to an Airbnb so we'll organised! It was immaculate, breakfast was lovely.. Better than a hotel! The couple welcomed us into their home, with warmth.. They couldn't do enough for us! We needed for nothing! Very down to earth, genuine, made us so welcome! Will recommend to rest of my family and friends! The history behind the house and grounds is amazing. Would recommend!! Thank you both so much, absolutely beautiful hosts.. We will be back

We stayed in the railway carriage. Absolutely fabulous. Tastefully decorated and furnished. Excellent hosts as they went and turned on the heater as it had turned chilly and wet. Breakfast was very tasty and a wonderful start for the day. Certainly hope to return.

We had no luck getting a room in St Andrews and on the way to somewhere else that had a room we had a chance peek at the The Old Station or should I say we noticed a great big train carriage on someones lawn. We turned the car around and popped in to see its a carriage on tracks and part of what was a railway station. We asked if the had room for the night and they did. What a great find that was. Such a pleasant little place, great friendly staff (owners) and a very comfortable bed & clean room. Next morning it was down stairs to what was a feast of a breakfast which set the both of us for the day. If I'm ever back up to this part of the world (and I will) and now I know where it is, I'll be making a beeline for this lovely little place on the outskirts of St Andrews. Happy to recommend this place to anyone.
