The Homestead sits in Hollinsclough, a village at the top of the Dove Valley with immediate access to some of the region's best walking. Chrome Hill—known locally as the Dragon's Back for its distinctive ridgeline—dominates the landscape, ringed by circular routes that take you through moorland and valley floor. The Peak District spreads beyond: Dovedale, Manifold Valley, The Roaches and Tittesworth Reservoir are all reachable for a day out, while dedicated cycling routes including the High Peak and Tissington Trail run through the area. The village itself appeals to artists and painters; the surrounding stone buildings and moorland views reward a sketchbook or camera within minutes of the cottage.
Inside, the cottage accommodates six across three bedrooms—two doubles and one smaller double—with two bathrooms to share the space comfortably. The ground floor holds a kitchen with electric cooking, dining area, sitting room warmed by an electric fire, and a bathroom with bath and shower. Upstairs, the bedrooms and shower room complete the layout. Bed linen, towels, wi-fi and heating are included; you'll find parking for two cars on the private drive, and an enclosed garden to the rear.
The Chapel Tea Rooms in the village serves weekend food and cakes during summer and autumn. No smoking is permitted inside. This is a base for exploring on foot or by bike rather than a luxury retreat, suited to families or groups wanting straightforward access to walking country.
