The Quiet Woman - The Loft
Derbyshire Dales
You climb 11 steps and step into a light-filled space with vaulted, beamed ceilings and Velux windows—the defining character of The Loft. This first-floor studio sits on the site of the former Quiet Woman pub in Earl Sterndale, renovated in 2025. Everything you need is here: a king-size bed, an open-plan living and dining area, a kitchen with an electric oven and hob, and a shower room. A stable door leads to a small sitting-out area where you can take in views across the surrounding hills.
The property is your own, with private parking for one car and a garden space. Wifi, heating, bed linen and towels are all provided. One dog can stay free. The building itself carries real age—dating back at least to the 18th century—and the detail matters: there's a hot and cold outdoor hose for rinsing boots or bikes, and a drying room if the weather turns wet.
Earl Sterndale sits within walking distance of Parkhouse and Chrome Hill; Longnor village, two miles away, has pubs serving food and a fish and chip shop. Bakewell, Buxton and Chatsworth House are all reachable for a day out. No smoking inside.
