About Church Farm
Amid the tiny villages and winding lanes of Hertfordshire, Church Farm offers a proper working-farm experience on 170 eco-friendly acres. Camping guests get free access to explore farm trails, watch daily animal feeds with pigs, goats, sheep and hens, and let kids forage for eggs to cook over your own campfire. The woodland play area and fresh bread from the farm's ovens add to the appeal, while the all-day café means you can skip cooking when the mood strikes.
Pitches rotate between several fields and a forest-floor option to keep the grass pristine, though facilities are fairly basic: outdoor gas showers, cold water sinks and compost loos reflect the site's low-impact ethos. Dogs roam free at no extra charge, and the farm's nonprofit focus on training people with special needs adds a feel-good dimension. Evenings might mean sausages from the shop over the fire or a stroll to the village pub for something heartier—either way, you're moving to a different pace here.

I recently stayed at Church Farm for two nights in my campervan. The spacious camping field and relaxed approach to the site made such a welcome change to the increasingly regimented nature of other campsites. Yes, the facilities are a little basic - some people might not like the compost loos - but it's a fairly inexpensive site and I found the farm's ecological ethos a breath of fresh air (even in the compost loos!) The staff were all very friendly and I thoroughly enjoyed my cooked breakfast. Excellent coffee too.

We visited the farm to see Santa. It was very magical and christmassy. We enjoyed exploring the farm. The staff were all friendly and welcoming. However, Santa felt rushed, he forgot to ask our children what they wanted for christmas. There was also a very limited choice of toys to choose from and was more focused on younger children. Limited options for my 10 year old daughter. I would say the experience is more focused on younger children.

it was a nice dry day today and I thought what can we do last minute and so I decided to take my kids to Church farm. it was a spontaneous visit and it was lovely. ok maybe not the best time of year but a lovely place to be in the nature away from devices. we walked around the farm, fed the animals and nice lunch. the staff were ever so nice, food served pretty quick and it was lovely. you can also buy fresh eggs and other products and I think it's also a nice way to support our local community and farmers. very reasonable prices and to be honest my boys age 12 had such a nice time. I didn't know if they were "too" old for it but farms are for all ages and animals lovers. Thank you the lovely guy in the cafe who was ever so kind too. we will return in April 🤗
