About Holiday Inn Stevenage

Stevenage, with its transport links and Hertfordshire attractions close by, is home to the Holiday Inn Stevenage on St Georges Way. The hotel spans seven floors and offers 140 rooms, including family and accessible options, all with en-suite bathrooms and air conditioning. The newly refurbished Premier rooms are a particular draw for guests wanting extra comfort, and each room comes with drinks and the option of room service.

Food is taken care of with a restaurant and snack bar on site, plus kids' meals and breakfast, and there's a bar for something to drink in the evening. Staff are consistently described as friendly and professional, and guests speak well of the restaurant's food. Practical extras include a gym, laundry and luggage storage, business services and meeting rooms, making it a workable base for both business and leisure stays. On-site parking is available but chargeable, and some guests have found spaces limited.

Beyond the hotel, there's a golf course, entertainment, pubs and restaurants all nearby, giving guests plenty to explore without travelling far from St Georges Way.

The staff we encountered were generally lovely and welcoming. However, the bed was quite uncomfortable, with a noticeable sag in the middle. The pillows were also subpar, making it difficult to get a good night's sleep. The TV's internet wasn't working, so we couldn't use the smart TV. You also have to be careful the door actually closes as it often catches on the chain. However, the room itself was clean and spacious enough for two people, complete with good bathroom amenities. Breakfast was adequate, with a reasonably good selection. The restaurant itself offered delicious food. However, parking on site was limited and pricey at £12 per night. A more affordable alternative is to park just across the road for £7 per exit. Overall, I probably wouldn't stay here again due to the uncomfortable bed.

First time stay at this hotel. It was a very brief overnight stay. I arrived late and left early so didn't use any of the hotel facilities. Therefore my review is solely centred on my check in/out and room standard. Firstly, I am familiar with the area so I was able to park freely in a local side street less than 5 minute walk to/from the holtel. Check in was easy. Staff I encountered (albeit briefly) were friendly. The room (4th floor) was spacious and had excellent facilities including a secure safe, hair dryer, tea and coffee ect ect. Tne bathroom was very well maintained and clean. The room was equipped again with all the usual amenities and handy USB charging ports at the bedside. The bed was comfortable (subjective I know) and the bedding was fresh and clean. My only less positive was the 'stuffiness' of the room with limited window opening for fresh air. Otherwise it was a comfortable stay and I would happily return.

Lovely welcome and smooth check in. The room was clean and spacious. Very decent size TV. Felt safe. Very clean corridors. Our package included dinner and we were very well served by Kumar who also became our 'Tech' specialist by resolving our 10 year old's Nintendo, which he was very delighted about! Thank you for a pleasant stay. The parking size was the only little matter. Would stay again! Thank you

Exceptional dining service provided by all staff led by Manager Joseph. Chef prepared meals are 5-Star quality dishes. Beef Rib, Schnitzel, chicken club & soups of the day amount my favorites. Room Service offered with delivery charge. Housekeeping team refreshed towels & removed trash daily. Most friendly staff & management. I worked from the business center, restaurant & lobby great professional vibe. Highly Recommend this hotel just to relax, work or convince of walking to Old Town.
