Archarn Estate Lodges - Maple
Stirling
Photo: Google Maps
Maple works well for small families, couples or friends wanting somewhere accessible and self-contained on working farmland. This detached lodge sits on the ground floor throughout, with ramp access and a wet room rather than a bath—practical if anyone has mobility needs. Two bedrooms (one kingsize, one with two singles) and a kitchen with electric cooking and a dishwasher mean you can manage properly for a week rather than rough it. One dog can come along for free, though it needs to stay on a lead around the 30-acre grounds.
The estate itself is the draw. You get access to three stocked fishing ponds for fly fishing, a tennis court, a children's play area and enough woodland to walk for hours. Picnic benches are scattered about. Parking is on site for two cars. Wi-Fi, heating, bed linen and towels are all included. The grounds are shared with other properties, which means less privacy but more going on—and a pub is within a mile if you want an evening out. The setting is Stirling, within reach of Loch Lomond and the Trossachs.
