I spent a lot of time in the Stockton Arms as a teenager. In those days it was a grotty little dark pub run by George and Marge and specialised in a delectable drink known as Flat Crap Bass. It was 11 pence a pint. Those days are long gone and the transformation into a contemporary bar,, beer garden and hotel rooms is nothing short of remarkable. Excellent food, staff and rooms make it well worth a visit. Thanks guys. Excellent.

Bit expensive.. since the new owner in, drink now 40-50p a pint more.. they must not know the area as would you charge that much more in a few weeks of opening. Goodbye old customers..

Ive used this pub for a lot of years was really friendly all the bar staff were part of the furniture the new owner has come in and all the staff have been forced out all claiming he talked down to you like a child.A real pity I've noticed a big drop off with regulars.Lets see how it plays out.

They don't do food, but they provide you with cutlery for takeout which I think is a really nice touch. The rooms are really nice. If you want a comfy place to stay when you're passing through then this place is brilliant. The rooms are very very good.
